So for term 2, i am still in the interact club, still playing tennis and a new activity/collaborative project of organizing the Senior prom of 2014.
Before joining interact, i thought it wouldn't be as challenging as it is now. I didn't know that so much planning would be needed in order to do anything. Like for example, we are helping a local school by providing them with what they cant afford to give each and every student and that's stuff like pencils, posters of the alphabets and reading books. but for us to provide all this, we need money to buy and to raise money, we need to organize a fundraiser. This makes work difficult because not all of us agree to one fundraiser at once; people have different opinions and then others have to compromise with their ideas. So like it really is helpful because it is helping one be more bold and be brave in front of others though indirectly but it still is helping.
Whereas for tennis, i really enjoy it now. it is still tiring and at times i don't feel like going because i want to sleep on weekends but i still manage to get up and go play tennis. Its a really fun game, helping me be more concentrating and focused in anything i do. I really enjoy it.
Finally, the new activity; decorating the venue for Prom. Its not an easy job as i thought it was. One needs to be really patient and collaborative when working as a group. Right now, we are organizing a fundraiser to serve/deliver breakfast to the staff of Kisu and DP students on Monday 20/01/2014. The breakfast will be made fresh and different amount of prices are aligned to the different dishes. So on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we have/will be taking orders from the students and staff so that we have time to prepare and they are made aware of the program too.
This was really challenging because I realized that not all people have the same taste. Most teachers wanted Bacon and Ham Sandwiches or something really healthy for breakfast but we couldn't bring food really expensive and charge less for that therefore we had to convince them to at least have juice if not toast or croissants or muffins and other stuff included. We planned in a short time and it is working out. We have got a good amount of orders for a start, hope it works out well. *fingers crossed*
This is just our first fundraiser, many more are to come before prom.
